MACHZOR / MACHZORIM   Program for Festival Service (Singular / Plural) - Literally: Cycle

 

MATZAH / MATZOT              Unleavened Bread  (Singular / Plural)

 

MESSIANIC                         Similar to "Christian", but from Hebrew language (Mashiach) rather than Greek (Christos):

                                            generally denotes a more Hebraic / Torah perspective of Messiah

 

MIDRASH                            Commentary on the Bible

 

MIKVAH / MIKVAOT            Biblical Baptistery (Singular / Plural) - see MIKVAH - BAPTISM

 

MITZVOT                             Instructions or their fulfillment: good deeds

 

OMER                                 Unit of dry measure - approx one-half gallon; one-tenth of an ephah, which is approx a bushel

 

SEDER / SEDARIM             Order of Service (Singular / Plural) - commonly referring to Passover service
                                            or Triennial Sabbath Readings (Annual Cycle reading is called Parasha)

 

ROSH HODESH                   Beginning of Month - New Moon - Literally: Head of Cycle - see ROSH HODESH

 

SIDDUR                               Daily Prayer Book, Program for Sabbath services - Literally: Order

 

TEHILLIM                            Psalms

 

TEFILLAH                            Prayer

 

YAHWEH                             Name of God - see GOD'S HOLY NAME

 

YESHUA                             Original Hebrew name commonly translated "Jesus"; means Yahweh is Salvation
